Group Finance Director
Chris Baty, Group Finance Director, is an experienced Chartered Accountant who qualified with PWC over 20 years ago. Since 2001, Chris has been the Group Finance Director of a number of high growth, award winning, international businesses all with technology assets.
Chris joined NGP in Jan 2017 and has overseen the company growing its turnover from under £10m to over £40m resulting in multiple business scale up award nominations including the ‘Scale-Up’ category in the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards. In 2019 he was also winner of the Northern Finance Director Awards 2019 – Director of the year – Growth / Scale Up.
Global Operations Director
After joining Northern Gas and Power in 2016 as a Sales Team Manager, Leah quickly proved herself as a driven and capable leader. She was promoted to the role of Service Operations Director in 2017 where she quickly established an award winning compliance process and demonstrated leadership and dynamism whilst overseeing the Service and Operations Department. Securing Platinum Accreditation from supplier partners and industry wide recognition, including being highly commended nationally at the Energy Efficiency Awards 2018 for Quality Management, Compliance & Training, Leah quickly demonstrated positive impact at a strategic level.
The Global Procurement Group are now proud to appoint Leah Barrett as our Global Operations Director. With a unique blend of entrepreneurial flair, business acumen and a dynamic approach to all elements of the energy industry, Leah will now drive performance, innovation and standards across our European, Asian and American operations.
UK Sales Director
Andrew Laird is Northern Gas and Power’s UK Sales Director, with over 10 years experience in the energy sector, he brings a wealth of knowledge of the global business utilities market to NGP.
Providing strategic direction on business vision and planning. He works with both the senior directors of the business and the Board to deliver input on the technology roadmap that the business is taking to drive key future growth.
He has operated at a high level in the energy industry for the past decade having worked for PLCs and helped grow start-ups into multi-million business operations. Building his knowledge in this time he has developed a strong network of relationships with stakeholders, customers and suppliers internationally and ensures the extremely high quality standards of service levels are maintained throughout all of NGP’s international operations.
Global Sales Director
Mark Leeming is the company’s Global Sales Director and has been with the business for three and a half years. He is integral to the efficient communication across GPG’s whole sales environment, streamlining performance and ensuring the business maintains its competitive advantage. Mark has worked in sales for roughly 20 years and been in senior management roles since 2002. In 2009 he took an underperforming regional Orange franchise to the top five in the country. At former Utilitywise he achieved £9.2m revenue in 12 months, progressing to a senior Operations position, before joining GPG in February 2017. For GPG last year he exceeded his £19m sales target, by £5.5m.
He drives high-performing sales teams, supporting the successful growth of their customer base. He is a highly respected and personable professional, dedicated and driven, with an excellent relationship-building mentality, whether with colleagues, suppliers or wider industry influencers.

Martin Nicholson is the group’s Global Head of Business Development and has been in this role for four years. He is a consummate leader with vision to tackle challenges whether they are software, R&D or strategic planning. He offers strategic insight at a senior level into exploiting new sectors and markets. He helps build customer relationships and supports on web developing and content with particularly focus on new technology and secure data storage.
Director of Customer Service
Paul Barrett is the Director of Customer Service at Northern Gas and Power. With a career spanning 23 years, Paul has operated at a strategic level performing senior management roles across the public, private and third sectors. Paul possesses a track record of exceptional achievement in performance management and customer service, having operated across the globe to deliver the highest level of customer service within the police service, locally based charities and within international corporations. He recently joined Northern Gas and Power and quickly developed a Customer Service Department, which blends market leading energy management solutions with an exceptional and experienced team.

Scott High, Global People Director, is responsible for the colleague life-cycle, including Employer Brand, Recruitment, HR, Learning & Development, Employee Engagement, Internal Communications and Health & Safety. He is an integral part of the senior director level team inputting daily in the direction of the business.
He has years of experience in the people engagement and talent acquisition space and is an accomplished leader who has a collaborative work ethic driving his teams forward to achieve excellence at all levels.
US Sales & Operations Director
For over a decade Tim has forged a reputation in the global utilities market as a leader and dedicated professional who can help transform teams. He has a rich and varied experience having started in the energy sector with Utilitywise as a partner channel manager, offering partners bespoke strategies to better manage their utilities.
He brings real customer-focused energy to supporting clients – really understanding their needs and ensuring they are supported with the complexities of their various energy portfolios. While at NGP he has supported the roll out of its online price-comparison engine, Business Energy Quotes, which is tailored to SMEs and sole traders. He has also managed the Leeds team, helping them outperform their targets and is now focused on driving further growth in Texas, with the US operation.
Director of Technology
Umesh Deenadayalan leads the business process to technology adoption that fuels Global Procurement Groups digital agenda. A key part of the Energy Lab, based in India, he has a Masters in E-Technology for Business from the University of Sunderland, in the UK, and specialises in transforming business requirements into robust solution architectures. He has over 10 years’ experience leading high-potential matrix teams across software design and embedded systems development.

Global Operations Executive
Geoff Moses, Global Operations Executive, is a results oriented professional business leader with a strong background in selling into emerging markets. With over 19 years of experience gained in sales he has 15 years in senior management roles with a proven track record in: Strategic management and development of significant multi-million-pound business in several diverse market sectors including energy trading, energy procurement, renewable energy technologies, SMART and real-time energy monitoring systems, cloud based technologies and energy bureau solutions. He is involved in the development and implementation of complex, sales management operational processes with key focus on drivers for success and performance measurement.
Asif Ahmed is one of the longest serving people at Northern Gas and Power. During his varied career he has worked his way through diligent hard work to now oversee all the daily tasks required to help run the Global Operations in every department across the entire group. Working closely with all Directors and the Management Team, his 15+ years of sales and customer care experience has been used to recruit, secure supplier relationships and embed stringent policies to fulfil the objective of the growth of the operation, to one now spanning three continents.
Head of Infrastructure
Jonathan Spiteri is Head of Infrastructure. Based in Malta, with a Masters degree in Information Technology he also possesses multiple hands-on certifications on cloud, virtualisation, Windows and Linux. Key areas of competency include wide-ranging IT operations, development, problem-solving, large-scale IT-design and implementation focusing on innovation, automation, efficiency, team growth and mentoring.
He has 20 years of IT experience in multiple industries including government agencies, telecommunication, web application security, online casino gaming, online video streaming and banking. Hi experience has given him a 360 perspective across the business where he can guide GPG teams in making the right choices quickly. This puts the group of businesses at a clear competitive advantage.

Jeremy Seront, Team and Project Manager, has built up four years of experience in the global energy sector. Managing teams of consultants in the UK and France for 2 years, he adds to the calibre of the French teams. He has helped identify and create new relationships with the French supplier networks and is also heavily involved in developing new services and technologies for the French market.
Operations Director, France
Matthew Koziol is our French Operations Director, with over six years’ experience in the energy sector. Having previously worked for a PLC, he uses his extensive knowledge of the French and British markets to help develop and provide structure to the team’s interaction with the French energy market. His key skills include nurturing supplier relationships and identifying new market streams.
Head of Energy Services
Dan Smith, Head of Energy Services responsible for a wide ranging energy management portfolio helping Northern Gas and Power’s customers improve their energy efficiency and reduce their bills.
He is as successful Head of Energy and Chartered Energy Engineer with a wide range of experience working for and with a variety of clients, including major blue-chip corporations such as IKEA, Rolls Royce Aerospace and Siemens. He has operated internationally (Europe, Africa and Asia) in FMCG and manufacturing sectors, and has a proven track-record of delivering and managing projects, developing and delivering operational strategies, and managing energy and influencing large corporates with respect to energy and sustainability. He is responsible for annual energy budgets up to £20m, and single value projects up to £3million.
His depth of experience bring to Northern Gas and Power extensive specialist knowledge gained from nearly 30 years energy engineering, energy services and energy management experience in many different sectors all over the world, from China to Zambia.

David spearheads our growing legal team, strengthening the legal department in terms of personnel and expertise.
David joins as Northern Gas and Power’s Director Of Legal Services. With more than a decade’s experience, he has extensive knowledge in commercial litigation having represented national and multinational corporations, with former senior positions including Partner with Sinton LLP.

Kevin Anderson has been a commercial and dispute resolution solicitor for circa 20 years and has a wealth of experience at helping to ensure that our business runs smoothly. He ensures our commercial contracts are fair and reasonable for all concerned. His experience is deep and this enables him to manage queries professionally and effectively to ensure they are resolved before the prospect of a dispute arises. He manages a small team of legal experts and oversees the implementation of training and development, ensuring his team and the wider global businesses are fully up to date with all of the legislation and laws that apply to our sector.
Head of Corporate Marketing
David Bootle is the Global Head of Corporate Marketing and with roughly 20 years’ experience. Formerly both a regional and national journalist, he now leads corporate marketing with extensive experience of international marketing and an equally extensive network of media, broadcast and advertising contacts. By developing a content strategy he has helped to position the company as an innovator and thought-leader in the international utilities sector. He builds lasting relationships which provide positive brand profile with trade and international media, Chambers of Commerce and the CBI to name a couple.

Kelly Convery, as Global HR Manager, Kelly is responsible for people attrition and supporting performance across the HR function. Streamlining processes and improving engagement with NGP’s people is integral to her role. Her flair has enabled her to support the move away from admin based functions to making HR more flexible and responsive to the operations needs and a staff force of 500. She is instrumental in implementing and overseeing on-going recruitment strategies, retaining key players and managing their well-being. She has recently been awarded Forward Ladies – Yorkshire, North East & Scotland’s ‘Emerging Leader’ and has also been nominated for the Forward Ladies – National & Summit ‘Emerging Leader’.
Group Finance Manager
Lynne Smith is the Group Finance Manager, overseeing the day-to-day financial management of the business. Reporting to the Financial Director, she manages the control frameworks within the finance department and the collation of key financial data. In her three years with NGP, she has ensured key KPI’s are delivered in a timely manner to the Group Finance Director and the CEO. She supports the preparation of the monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, manages the budgeting and forecasting process, staff payroll, customer and supplier invoices and cash flow requirements.
Amy Jukes joined Northern Gas and Power in March 2015 as the Administration Manager. With over 10 years’ experience in the energy industry, Amy has successfully developed our Admin Department into one of the best in the industry.
After four years successfully managing and developing our Administration Department, Amy was selected to head up and develop the new Point of Sale Team, which gives our Account Managers direct access to her and her teams’ vast knowledge of the energy industry. This role plays a vital link between the sales consultants and the services team, ensuring robustness of sales and that our rigorous compliance standards are constantly met.
Operational Service Manager
Health and Wellbeing coach
Before joining NGP as a Health and Wellbeing Coach, Sam worked in high-performance sport with athletes for 10+ years. In that time he managed multidisciplinary teams of; nutritionists, psychologists, physiologists, physiotherapists, soft tissue therapists, performance analysts and sports scientists – including work with Newcastle United.
Over the last three years he has worked with large businesses across the north east consulting on evidence-based health and wellbeing interventions designed to improve wellbeing and increase performance.
At NGP he is responsible for designing and implementing a full health and wellbeing provision geared to give colleagues access to the best support possible, increasing performance so they can truly maximise their potential. This will include access to: one-to-one health and wellbeing coaching, mental health first aid support and corporate wellbeing initiatives.
Administration Manager, US
Jamilla Johnson is the Administration Manager at NGP Americas. Having built up experience in energy management for 15 years in the real estate world at Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp/Freddie Mac, she now oversees client handling and sales operation in the US operation. Her skills are built around a forensic attention to detail in data entry and pricing models and in her time in real estate, she has built her way up to senior sales specialist managing REO Outsourcers. Her ability to rapidly develop and widen her skills set has enabled her to transition seamlessly into the gas and power industry where she works with various clients and commercial businesses small and large, helping them to find competitive energy tariffs and better manage their utilities strategies.
Emma Steele, Compliance Manager, has 10 years’ of energy sector experience.
She has been with Northern Gas and Power over 3 years starting as an Energy Consultant but her dynamism and enthusiasm for achieving the highest levels of customer service led to a role as Team Leader in the services department. She has helped develop the service department by improving the quality of service to customers, suppliers and colleagues across the globe. In January 2021 she was promoted again to Compliance Manager.
