Brendan Garvey Appointed as New Chief People Officer

Global Procurement Group, trading in the UK as Northern Gas and Power, has appointed Brendan Garvey as Chief People Officer.

Brendan joined the global energy specialist at the beginning of August. He will be a member of the executive board, and will report into the CEO, Fokhrul Islam. The new role includes responsibility across the full People, Culture, Policy and Transformational Change agenda.

Brendan’s experience will allow him to drive key Human Resources (HR) best practices and initiatives at GPG. He’ll provide strategic direction and expertise for HR, across the global group of companies, supporting the executive leadership team.

Accomplished Leader

Brendan is an accomplished people and organisational development leader. He has over 25 years’ management experience in a number of industries, including Nuclear Generation, Telecommunications, IT Services and Retail. Brendan has worked for companies such as BT, EDF, Vodafone, CISCO, AVAYA, IBM and Bank of Ireland.

He brings a wealth of experience in business – partnering senior leaders, providing insight, guidance and support. His knowledge will enhance GPG’s HR function, including recruitment, performance management, learning and development, talent management and HR transformation.

This has included a people strategy underpinned by continuous development, brand-new systems, focuses on development and the appointment of a colleague health and wellbeing lead.
